However, it is interesting that among such beautiful open land, I find myself–when in driver hypnosis–focusing on these towers and other mad-made anti-features of the desert. When I awake I shudder and admire the Ruby’s or the oasis like Cresent Valley and other places.

    Do TV towers count? Try “the Beacon” on top of Red Butte. The two big white panels. Also a great hike this time of year.
